The EuréseaU Meeting took place in London, United Kingdom.

The EuréseaU Autumn Meeting 2016 was opened by a Get together on Friday evening which took place at the impressive office of Bircham Dyson Bell (BDB), which is located at the heart of Westminster, hence close to Parliament, Westminster Abbey, the Supreme Court, New Scotland Yard and the Ministry of Justice.

Saturday morning started with the members’ meeting at the office of BDB. After Hans-Oluf thanked Neil for the organisation and welcomed everybody, Neil gave us a short presentation about BDB.

He explained that until 1964, BDB’s office had been the headquarters of the secret intelligence service (MI6) where James Bond had gone through the secret tunnels to St James’s Court.

Furthermore, BDB is a multi-disciplinary firm in a single office in London, advising a variety of clients since 1834. It is not the oldest law firm in London but it is getting there. BDB has five internal groups:

(1) Private Wealth,
(2) Government & Infrastructure,
(3) Real Estate,
(4) Business Services,
(5) Litigation.

Neil then introduced David Mundy, a partner in BDB’s Government and Infrastructure department from whom we learned lots of very interesting details about the topic of the forthcoming Brexit which is currently one of the hottest issues in Britain and the EU.

Having finished Saturday’s business programme, the evening proceeded with a private tour of St Paul’s Cathedral – a cultural highlight indeed. The tour was followed by dinner at the extraordinary Sky Bar of Grange St Paul's Hotel, an exclusive penthouse-level bar with a rooftop terrace which offers marvellous views over St Paul’s Cathedral as well as the latest additions to the London sky-line.

On Sunday we had the opportunity to participate in an excursion to Greenwich, taking a lovely boat cruise on the river Thames.

The Spring Meeting 2017 will take place on April 21-23 in Paris, hosted by Jacques Merret.

We would like to thank Neil Emerson and his team for the excellent organisation and preparation of the recent EuréseaU meeting. As in 2013, again, we got to know some beautiful places of charming London which is always worth a visit.
